Lead Infrastructure Engineer for the ICMS project. Responsible for the design and maintenance of ICMS server infrastructure.

Advanced troubleshooting and support for application related issues. ICMS is a custom application written in .NET, encompassing Handysoft Bizflow, Hummingbird RDIMS, and Cognos components with .NET web services. Deep analysis and troubleshooting was often required, coordinating efforts between various development teams.
Introduced and implemented server virtualization for the various development and test environments.

Responsible for the design and construction of a test and integration lab to support a national migration project from NT 4 and Exchange 5.5 to Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003.

Worked with DFO staff on obtaining appropriate snapshots of production data and directories for use in the lab. Documented the process to allow for periodic refreshing of lab data.

Windows 2000/Exchange 2000 Migration

Duration: 1 year, 3 months (05/02-08/03)

Lead engineer for the project, which successfully migrated over 3500 mailboxes, and nearly 5000 workstations. Over the course of the project more than 300 servers were consolidated to just 130.

Responsibilities include:

Creation and testing of end to end migration process. Main design goals for the migration process include “limited impact” process to insure against extended downtime and fast rollback if necessary. Full documentation was provided to migration teams.
Documented network standards and building/installing server hardware and software installation procedures
Collaboration on Active Directory design team.
