{"id":1026,"date":"2008-01-15T09:05:00","date_gmt":"2008-01-15T14:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/15\/cyberhuahuas-wheel-huahuas-or-chiborgs\/"},"modified":"2008-01-15T09:05:00","modified_gmt":"2008-01-15T14:05:00","slug":"cyberhuahuas-wheel-huahuas-or-chiborgs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/15\/cyberhuahuas-wheel-huahuas-or-chiborgs\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyberhuahuas, Wheel-huahuas, or Chiborgs?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A trio of Chihuahuas were\u00c2\u00a0born without front legs\u00c2\u00a0due to a birth defect\u00c2\u00a0from over-breeding, and were rescued and adopted by what must be a very patient vet.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure what the predominant emotion <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neatorama.com\/2008\/01\/12\/chihuahuas-on-wheels\/\">this story<\/a> generates for me, it&#8217;s either sadness that these dogs have been deformed by human greed, or the fact that I can&#8217;t look at them without thinking of those rats on the Muppet Show.\u00c2\u00a0 I mean, especially when they are hopping (pathetically) around on their hind legs, they reminded me strongly of Rizzo with his quivering ears, spindly appendages, and skittish demeanor.\u00c2\u00a0 See for yourself, there&#8217;s a strong resemblance there I think.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/rizzo.jpg\" title=\"Rizzo the Rat\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/01\/rizzo.jpg\" alt=\"Rizzo the Rat\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anyway, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsday.com\/news\/local\/longisland\/ny-lidogs0112,0,7879442.story?coll=ny_home_rail_headlines\">the story here<\/a> is the fact that they have been given custom made carts that let them wheel around horizontally instead of hopping like a kangadog, which they do with reasonable dexterity.\u00c2\u00a0 Check out the video, they do pretty well for two legs.\u00c2\u00a0 Kangahuahua?\u00c2\u00a0 Chigaroo?<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, looks like they are doing just fine in spite of their health issues, and they are cute but only because they have a slight pathetic sympathy thing going for them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A trio of Chihuahuas were\u00c2\u00a0born without front legs\u00c2\u00a0due to a birth defect\u00c2\u00a0from over-breeding, and were rescued and adopted by what must be a very patient vet.
