{"id":1314,"date":"2008-10-24T08:00:29","date_gmt":"2008-10-24T12:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/?p=1314"},"modified":"2008-10-24T09:45:54","modified_gmt":"2008-10-24T13:45:54","slug":"scrabble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/24\/scrabble\/","title":{"rendered":"Scrabble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/07\/frustration\/\" target=\"_blank\">mentioned xkcd before<\/a>, it&#8217;s an absolutely brilliant web comic for nerds. \u00c2\u00a0This recent comic made me simultaneously inhale coffee deep into my lungs, filling them with warm caffeinated poison at the same time as I emitted twin jets of steaming java from my nose. \u00c2\u00a0It took several handfuls of paper towels to return my monitors to some semblance of order. \u00c2\u00a0My keyboard probably won&#8217;t ever be the same.<\/p>\n<p>I wasn&#8217;t going to post this to the blog since it&#8217;s slightly racy but Nikki convinced me that by the time the kids can figure out what&#8217;s going on in this comic they will probably appreciate the joke. \u00c2\u00a0That&#8217;s the plan, anyway and if it backfires I&#8217;m blaming her for everything.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/imgs.xkcd.com\/comics\/scrabble.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Scrabble\" src=\"http:\/\/imgs.xkcd.com\/comics\/scrabble.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"574\" height=\"524\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Love this guy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>**Update:<\/p>\n<p>Since I am perfectly clairvoyant, have infallible meme radar, coupled with a keen sense of social trends, an article about xkcd <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/servlet\/story\/RTGAM.20081023.wgtweb24\/BNStory\/Technology\/?page=rss&amp;id=RTGAM.20081023.wgtweb24\" target=\"_blank\">appeared in The Globe and Mail today<\/a>&#8230;. \u00c2\u00a0How&#8217;s that for good blogging? \u00c2\u00a0Eh?
