{"id":1325,"date":"2008-10-30T08:00:19","date_gmt":"2008-10-30T12:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/?p=1325"},"modified":"2008-10-29T13:24:45","modified_gmt":"2008-10-29T17:24:45","slug":"because-theres-no-room-for-tattoos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/30\/because-theres-no-room-for-tattoos\/","title":{"rendered":"Because there&#8217;s no room for tattoos&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/cnews.canoe.ca\/CNEWS\/WeirdNews\/2008\/10\/28\/7228766-ap.html\" target=\"_blank\">new law in Vietnam<\/a> prohibits anyone with a chest measurement smaller than 28 inches from riding a motorcycle. \u00c2\u00a0Also if you are too short, or too thin you had better find another ride, son.<\/p>\n<p>This new push is a result of the government there trying to make sure that all of their drivers are in good health.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you are fat, you are good to go on a bike. \u00c2\u00a0Nothing says healthy like a really overweight person on a motorcycle. \u00c2\u00a0Yep, it was those short thin people that were making the country look bad. \u00c2\u00a0Better get them off the streets.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, I&#8217;m not the only one who thinks this is dumb:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Vietnamese bloggers have been poking fun at the plan, envisioning traffic police with tape measures eagerly pulling over female drivers to measure their chests.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From now on, padded bras will be best-sellers,&#8221; said Bo Cu Hung, a popular Ho Chi Minh City blogger.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Even better, there really seems to be no actual problem here:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The average Vietnamese man is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 121 pounds.
