{"id":817,"date":"2006-12-04T15:47:06","date_gmt":"2006-12-04T20:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/2006\/12\/04\/the-exhaustion-epidemic\/"},"modified":"2006-12-04T15:47:06","modified_gmt":"2006-12-04T20:47:06","slug":"the-exhaustion-epidemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vallentyne.com\/blog\/2006\/12\/04\/the-exhaustion-epidemic\/","title":{"rendered":"The Exhaustion Epidemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Go and read <a href=\"http:\/\/observer.guardian.co.uk\/woman\/story\/0,,1959914,00.html?gusrc=rss&#038;feed=1\">this article<\/a> right now.\u00c2\u00a0 Go and don&#8217;t come back until you&#8217;re done.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll wait.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a very good bit on something that I know Nikki and I have been noticing for a while now; we are always tired.\u00c2\u00a0 When we aren&#8217;t sleeping, we are getting worse at taking the time to relax.\u00c2\u00a0 We end up going hard, harder to get &#8220;there&#8221; and then completely shutdown for a spell.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s not very healthy for sure.\u00c2\u00a0 We are in a period of going crazy now, getting the house ready for Christmas and shopping, etc.\u00c2\u00a0 Nikki has some jewelry shows too, and after those are done I&#8217;m sure we will collapse into a heap of dazed numbness.<\/p>\n<p>The article covers lots about a culture of work and how nobody is allowed to show any perceived weakness for fear of losing their job.\u00c2\u00a0 Unfortunately for Nikki she has a lock on her particular job and isn&#8217;t likely to be replaced soon&#8230;<br \/>\nAnyway, we could all stand to relax a bit more.\u00c2\u00a0 Give it a try, I know I&#8217;m going to hold Nikki down until she relaxes tonight.<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
